Levana’s Feminist Reading Group Reads “Drag King Dreams”

WHAT: The Levana Gender Advocacy Centre’s feminist reading group meets once a month to discuss a different text and the book we are reading this month is Drag King Dreams by Leslie Feinberg.

Event poster for 'Levana Feminist Reading Group Reads Darg King Dreams'.

“After the huge blockbuster of Stone Butch Blues, Feinberg’s new novel brings us more thoughts and stories from the edges of gender radicalism that we’ve been waiting for. Feinberg’s character, Max Rabinowitz, is a hardened burnt-out ex-activist who gets drawn back into fighting alongside his co-workers and friends as they struggle to define and defy gender in a violent and prejudiced world. Fast-paced and brilliantly written.”

The book is available at bookstores like Novel Idea or borrow a copy for free at Levana’s library (come visit us in the Grey House!) and libraries like KFPL Central branch and Stauffer.

We’re meeting to discuss the book on
WHEN: Wednesday, May 18th at 6:30pm
WHERE: Kingston Frontenac Public Library, Central branch in the Chown Room (130 Johnson St.)
Everyone is welcome!

The space is wheelchair accessible.
