Following the approval of our question by the AMS assembly Thursday night, Levana began the campaigning period Friday (lasting until November 3rd) for the Fall referendum. During this time, we will be giving brief class talks about our existing programming and what we intend to use a (opt-ouble and optional) student-fee for! We will also be posting graphics here, as well as our Facebook, that outline briefly the history of Levana and our location (the Grey House), as well as the work that we do.
The first graphic, outlines our mandate!
[Image is a description of the Levana mandate. In black and yellow text, the first line reads ‘Vote ‘Yes’ to Levana Nov. 4th and 5th’. The black text in the middle of the page reads ‘The Levana Gender Advocacy Centre is a student-funded Queen’s University organization committed to creating and nurturing a radical community of Kingston students and residents. Devoted to fighting gender oppression and advocating for broad ideas of gender empowerment for those of any or no gender, Levana operates on anti-oppressive practices. We are committed to confronting all forms of oppression and working to dismantle oppressive systems and hierarchies including patriarchy, racism, white supremacy, colonialism, classism, cissexism, heterosexism, and ableism. Levana exists for anyone in the Kingston community, regardless of whether or not they are Queen’s students.’. On the bottom of the image, there is a black banner with white text that reads ‘Levana Gender Advocacy Centre learn more at levanacentre.wordpress.com’. In the right corner of the banner, there is an image of the Levana logo (which is a fist, with the knuckles facing directly forward)]
