WHAT: Planting the Seeds: A Social Justice Fair is a bit like the annual Clubs Night, but you don’t have to filter through booths to get to the social justice and community organizing work you’re looking for!  Come check out various groups and organizations on campus and in town doing social justice work, meet progressive folks in the community, and eat some free catered snacks!

WHERE AND WHEN:Come out to Wallace Hall in the JDUC anytime from 3pm to 5pm on October 8th!

If you are a group or organization involved in social justice and organizing and are interested in having a booth at the fair, please contact us at

Also: for those with an interest in progressive community at Queen’s and in Kingston, please check out the full list of events in September and October for Rad Frosh here (a radical disability politics workshop, a panel on Indigenous resistance, and more!), and Queerientation here.

An Introduction

our new logo!Friends & lovers,

Welcome to the brand new website for the brand new Levana Gender Advocacy Centre!  We used to be the Women’s Centre at Queen’s, but we spent this summer changing gears and striving to make the Centre trans-inclusive and an advocate for broader ideas of gender empowerment (for those of any or no gender).  We will be looking to more strongly assert ourselves politically and provide radical and alternative feminist resources, programming, and community in Kingston and at Queen’s University.  These things are very new and we’re sure to stumble, so we’ll be self-reflexive about our decisions and make sure we’re held accountable for any mistakes we make.  We encourage you to contact us and let us know about any issues.  For now, please read about why we named ourselves Levana, learn about our new mandate in the About Us section, and let us know what you think.

As we wrote earlier, we need your help to learn and grow.  What kinds of things would you like to see from a feminist, sex-positive, anti-oppressive, trans-inclusive, queer-positive, radical group/space? (Gasp! That was a mouthful.) What kinds of material would you like to see in our alternative resource library?  What are some zines you wish you could get your hands on?  What sorts of things make you feel comfortable in a space?  What would you like to see on this website?  Where do you like to be kissed?  It’s all relevant!  Let us know what you think in the comments.  Or send us an e-mail at

If you want to be involved in the creation of this centre, let us know!  We’re on the lookout for steering collective members and volunteers!

Ka-Pow! Gender justice punch!
